Access to Work can fund the support you need to thrive
What is Access to Work?
Access to Work is a government grant that pays for practical support to help you start, stay, or succeed in work. That could mean:
Coaching or mentoring to manage overwhelm or boost confidence
Support with admin, emails, or focus
Equipment or software that makes your job easier
Help with communication or travel
It’s not means-tested, doesn’t affect your benefits, and doesn’t require a formal diagnosis.
Could You Be Eligible?
You might qualify if you:
Are 16 or older
Are in (or about to start) paid work, including freelance or self-employed
Have a disability, neurodivergence, or health condition that affects how you work
You don’t need to be in full-time work - part-time, hybrid, contract and freelance roles all count.
Autism or ADHD coaching to help with overwhelm, organisation, or workplace confidence
Virtual assistant support for emails, scheduling, or task management
Noise-cancelling headphones or software tools to manage focus
Interpreters or note-takers if communication is a barrier
Travel support if public transport is difficult or unreliable
We tailor recommendations to you and your job.
No — you just need to explain how your condition impacts you at work.
Yes, in most cases Access to Work will contact your employer to confirm your role and coordinate support. We can help you navigate that conversation.
